New to Dreamforce
New to Dreamforce? Get ready for an action-packed week! But with all the people, sessions, glitz, and events, Dreamforce can be pretty overwhelming for a newbie. Here are some tips to prepare you for the adventure ahead!
Before the conference
- Register online early. We want you to get the best conference rate possible!
- Plan ahead. Use the agenda builder in the Dreamforce App to plan out your conference experience. Register for your desired sessions, figure out which partners you'd like to meet in the Expo, and decide which evening events make the most sense for you. But be sure to leave plenty of time for networking, browsing, or just hanging out.
- Find a friend. Use the Dreamforce App to meet other Salesforce aficionados before the conference. Sign up for Chatter and follow various users, join groups, and put yourself out there. You'll be amazed at how much you'll learn—and how many people are happy to help you out.
During the conference
- Check in on-site as early as possible. Doing so will help you avoid a queue at the registration center and give you more time to network and browse the Expo.
- Wear your walking shoes. The Moscone Center is BIG, and you'll be walking quite a bit from session to Expo to keynote to session to lunch to session to networking event. Happy feet = happy you.
- Pace yourself. You'll have the urge to see and do everything on day one. Resist! You'll only exhaust yourself, and you need to maintain your fervor and energy for the rest of the conference. It may be hard, but eventually you'll be glad you took your first day slowly.
- Hit first-timer orientation. Join conference chair Rachel Thornton and a panel of Dreamforce alums on Tuesday afternoon as they help you create a road map to maximize your conference experience.
After the conference
- Keep up the connections! You'll make connections at Dreamforce that can help you year-round. Be sure to stay connected—through the Dreamforce App, the Salesforce.com Community, and even via Twitter and email.
- Tell us what you think. Dreamforce is awesome because past attendees care enough to provide helpful feedback and constructive criticism. We take our post-conference surveys seriously, and we hope you will, too!
